A Leap of Faith That Changed Everything
Before entering the aesthetics industry, Kiera spent 27 years in the corporate world.
Although successful, something kept pulling her toward Arizona.
"There was something magical about this place," she recalls.
When she decided it was time for a career change, she discovered SWINA—and immediately knew she had found the right place.
Leaving behind nearly three decades in corporate America wasn't just a professional transition. It became the beginning of an entirely new chapter.
"Leaving the corporate life behind to start the aesthetics program was the beginning of an incredible, transformative journey."
That journey didn't stop with aesthetics. Kiera continued expanding her education by studying Massage Therapy, Reiki, and ultimately earning her Associate's Degree through Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA).
Looking back, she describes the decision simply:
"Making the leap into holistic wellness was the absolute best decision of my life."
Choosing an Education That Honors the Whole Person
For Kiera, location wasn't the only reason SWINA stood out.
She wanted an education that recognized beauty as more than skin deep.

Like many aestheticians, Kiera's passion began with her own experiences.
Growing up with persistent acne deeply impacted her confidence and sparked a desire to truly understand skin health.
Yet her vision extended beyond skincare alone.
She wanted to combine corrective aesthetics with energy work, creating experiences that supported both outer beauty and inner well-being.
Today, that holistic philosophy defines her business.

Kiera is the owner of Sonoran Serenity Spa, a thriving wellness destination that reflects her belief that service should always come before profit.
After years in the corporate world, she wanted to create a different kind of business.
"Where corporations are driven by profit, I am entirely driven by service and support."
She built her business around compassion—for both clients and employees.
"I never ask my staff to do something I won't do, and they all know that I have their back."

She is also expanding into group cannabis-assisted meditation classes, further integrating holistic wellness into her offerings.
For Kiera, aesthetics has never been just about appearances.
It's about helping people heal from the inside out.
"It's important for me to create a menu that reflects what true wellness means to me."
Advice for Future SWINA Students
Kiera's advice is simple yet powerful:
Go for it.
She remembers starting with a single-room suite in downtown Tempe over a decade ago.
Today, her business has grown into two suites with six treatment rooms and an incredible team of professionals who share her passion for helping others.
Her story is proof that big dreams often begin with one courageous decision.
Never Stop Learning
Kiera's commitment to education didn't end after graduation.
In addition to her SWINA and SWIHA training, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, an MBA, and, most recently, became certified in cannabis-assisted therapy.
Her lifelong dedication to learning reflects one of the qualities we admire most in our graduates: the willingness to continue growing, evolving, and serving others at an even higher level.
